Cameras Are Coming to Elementary School Classrooms

Security cameras will be installed in Effingham County Georgia elementary schools by next spring, with every classroom being covered, according to local media reports. It follows the local school board spending $2 million fitting cameras in high school classrooms, with middle schools expected to follow shortly.

Superintendent Yancy Ford, of Effingham County School Board, claimed the move is one of a number of new "safety initiatives" being introduced, which will also be an opportunity to "highlight exemplary teachers", according to Savannah Morning News.

$7,200 for Every Student: Arizona’s Ultimate Experiment in School Choice

In a plan approved by the Republican-controlled Legislature last year, Arizona became the first state to make every student, even those from wealthy families, eligible for a school voucher — on average worth about $7,200 per student annually.

The state deposits the money into Education Savings Accounts for parents, which can be used to pay for private school or home schooling. If the student was enrolled in public school, the money follows the student. If the student was being privately educated, the voucher is a new cost to the state.

The program has been highly contentious — and hugely popular.

Since launching in September, it has grown from about 12,000 students to more than 59,000, outpacing projections. State education officials estimate enrollment could grow to 100,000 by next summer.

Why Is The Seattle Public Schools Using SAP?

SPS has spent millions of tax dollars ($12m estimation) on SAP a software package it doesn't need. What exactly are they doing with SAP?

BTA V: Approval of Staff Augmentation vendors’ contract amendments for SAP platform maintenance and support for a total of $1,250,000 over FY24.

For $1,250,000 SPS could fund many more important efforts.

Other People's Money It Never Runs Out For Seattle

The city wants to spend $165,000,000 (ya that’s $165 million) on another sports stadium in Seattle. This time it’s for replacing Memorial Stadium which is technically owned by the Seattle School District.

Where will the money come from? You guessed it from your bank accounts!

When I was in high school we along with the rest of the Metro league played our football games in Memorial Stadium. In the 90s Seattle Public Schools went on a very expensive High school sports fields building spree which today including renovations and upgrades probably exceeds the $150 million they want from us to build another stadium.   The point of building stadium fields at each High school was to avoid having to juggle so many games over a week-end and fans having to drive across the city to fight over expensive parking with the crowds there for other city center events.

We already have invested so much money in all these high school stadium fields that spending another $165 million does not make sense for Seattle school district.  The district is basically broke and can barley meet its current financial obligations.

If various groups in Seattle want to build a new stadium then they should follow in the University of Washington’s footsteps and ask all those big buck donors to once again pony up and pay for a new sports stadium.

There’s a Giant Hole in WA State’s Assault Weapons Ban

 Update 7/19/23  https://seattleschoolscommunityforum.blogspot.com/2023/07/my-meeting-with-alliance-for-gun.html

- On April 25, 2023 the WA state governor signed House Bill 1240 into law. The law basically restricts or bans WA state citizens from future sale, manufacture and import of assault-style semi-automatic weapons. There is one very large issue with this law and that is the state has given one entity a waiver to the law. Aero Precision is a weapons manufacture located in Lacy WA that can still manufacture all types of banned weapons they just can’t sell them to Washingtonians.

This seems to go against the spirit of what the law intended to accomplish.  This loophole allows Aero_Precision to manufacture weapons and then sell them outside of Washington state where they might be used in various crimes including school shootings. Why would the Washington state governor allow these weapons of mass killings to be exported to other states? If these weapons are such a menace to society as he claims then wouldn’t it be prudent and justified to stop the manufacturing and export of these mass killing machines?

I’ve sent emails to most of the local Democrat state representatives for a clarification and so far none have responded.

Open Prostitution , Open Drug Dealing ,Theft and the Seattle Boiling Frog Effect

Seattle rapper killed in shooting along Aurora Avenue North ....They mean PIMP

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/man-killed-in-north-seattle-shooting/ar-AA1flgZd

It was a bright sunny 2019 June afternoon when I picked up my daughter from her high school located just off of Aurora Ave. North.  As we made our way home we stopped at the red light on 125th and Aurora where a very young women crossed the street in the crosswalk. This isn't unusual except for the fact that she wasn't wearing any pants or underwear.  Fast forward to 2023 where the above mentioned situation is now considered not only normal but condoned by the city of Seattle administration.

Prostitution, drug dealing and open fencing of stolen merchandise is now prevalent all hours of the day and night from 85th all the way to 145th on Aurora. This activity impacts school children at Cascadia Elementary School, Broadview Thomson K-8 school and Ingram High School.

This is an example of the Boiling Frog Effect where if you slowly turn up the illicit activity the people don't really notice. They just drive by in their cars as very young women are trafficked right in front of their faces.

My efforts to stop the illicit activity has resulted in warnings that the traffickers will come after me to the police will arrest me for harassing the prostitutes .

My calls and emails to our Mayor asking for a solution have went unanswered. Our Seattle School District should be working to stop these crimes from happening so close to our schools but the school board insist on taking no action.

The Seattle Police responded ,

"The Seattle City Council repealed the Prostitution Loitering ordinance a couple of years ago. The City also adopted the harm reduction model which identifies the workers as victims and discourages enforcement. The City has contracted with social service agencies to conduct outreach and assist the workers out of the situation.

The Police Department conducts stings to arrest the customers a couple of times per month but it has no impact on the workers. We are also attempting to identify the employers and take enforcement action but it is difficult as the workers had no incentive to turn them in.

 Thank you

Bishop Unified School District Settlement Agreement for Harming Students During COVID-19 Pandemic

Bishop Unified School District to Pay $400,000 and Conduct Training for All Employees in Settlement Agreement for Harming Students During COVID-19 Pandemic

Bishop, California – May 11, 2023. With the help of retired U.S. Federal Judge Stephen G. Larson, Bishop Unified School District (BUSD) and a group of Parents who filed claims for damages for violation of their children’s civil rights finalized a settlement on April 27, 2023. Not only is the school district required to pay $400,000 because of the harm suffered by the children, BUSD must also provide counseling and tutoring for the students, and training for all BUSD faculty and staff on “public health, response to public health emergencies, informed consent, and bullying/harassment/retaliation issues.”

BUSD ignored federal informed consent laws and committed many civil rights violations, including discrimination, segregation, bullying, harassment, retaliation and denial of a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). At one school, many healthy students were forced to remain outside in cold winter weather because they did not consent to wearing masks. Some unmasked students were segregated outside of classrooms while other children, also not wearing masks, were allowed to fully participate in normal classroom activities depending on the teacher

Safety Concerns Linger at Ingraham High

"On Nov. 8, 17-year-old Ebenezer Haile was shot by another student in a school hallway. The next day, Jones announced a new safety initiative: Seattle Public Schools would assemble a community action team of school, police, city and community leaders to assess how safety can be improved at schools and surrounding neighborhoods.

To address mental health, a child wellness team made up of psychologists, counselors, pediatricians and social workers would be launched. Jones also said the district would conduct an audit of safety plans at Ingraham and safety reviews of the district’s 106 schools.

The district says it has accomplished all of those tasks. But Friends of Ingraham, a nonprofit group led by Ingraham High parents, has sent three letters to the district asking for more information.

The group asked for the outcome of the audit, what safety policies and procedures have been changed as a result, and whether policies and procedures leading up to the shooting and following the shooting were followed.

The parent group had a discussion with Jones set up in March, but it was delayed, said Kathleen Zagers, co-president of Friends of Ingraham. A meeting is set for this week."

Alaska Board Members Defend Materials Promoting Kinks And Sexting In Elementery School Libraries

The dad told Fox News Digital, 'They're pushing critical gender theory on kids starting in elementary school'

"We don't often see specific examples of what diversity, inclusion and equity looks like, though. So today I brought an excellent representation. This is like the archetype of diversity, inclusion, equity material that it's one of the books "Let's Talk About It: The Teen's Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human," that was just recently purchased for our libraries," he continued.

As soon as the parent read out loud the tactics the book promoted for children to use in-order to evade law enforcement the chair cut the parent off. This resulted in a vote to silence the parent which ended in a 5 to 2 yes vote to silence the parent.

Anarchy in Seattle Antifa-affiliated activists seize control of a city neighborhood and declare an "autonomous zone." Christopher F. Rufo June 10, 2020 The Social Order Seattle's hard-Left secessionist movement has claimed its first territory: six blocks in the Capitol Hill neighborhood

Roving gangs of Antifa rioters spent Friday evening rampaging through the streets of Seattle — with police often nowhere to be found, Antifa militants from the John Brown Gun Club set up the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” complete with barricades, guards armed with AR 15’s and signs saying “you are now leaving the USA.”

To absolutely no one's surprise, CNN presents this antifa arson, vandalism, and violence as "protesters" seeking only to "fight for racial justice." This is completely surreal given the meltdown by CNN and its fellows among the Democrat activist media over the events When it has occurred, interpersonal violence during demonstrations has ranged from street fights involving groups to "Nazi-punching," which, as the term suggests, involves an individual assaulting a perceived enemy. A September 2017 incident in the Seattle, WA, area reportedly began with people using antifa-linked social networking apps. The Seattle City Council and area activists are pretending the Antifa riot on inauguration night didn't happen

Idaho Bill Would Allow Parents To Sue Over ‘Harmful’ Books In Schools, Libraries

"People stood in doorways to attend a crowded meeting of the Meridian Library District’s board of trustees on Aug. 17, 2022, with some criticizing libraries over books containing nudity or depictions of sex. A new Idaho bill would allow parents to sue schools and libraries that allow minors to obtain materials with sexual content" | Sarah Miller, Idaho Statesman

BOISE (Idaho Statesman) – A new Idaho bill would open schools and public libraries to lawsuits for allowing minors to obtain books, films and other media that depict sexual content deemed “offensive.”

The legislation, from Rep. Jaron Crane, R-Nampa, would allow parents to sue schools and libraries if employees gave their child “harmful” material or if the institution failed to take “reasonable steps to restrict access” to “harmful” materials for minors.

The bill mirrors a current Idaho law that prohibits giving children under 18 “harmful” material that features “nudity, sexual conduct, sexual excitement or sado-masochistic abuse” when it’s lewd or “patently offensive to prevailing standards” among adults.

California School Boards Association to Split From National Organization Why Hasn't The Washington State School Boards Association?

Back in September 2021 the National School Board Association requested for the FBI to take action to declare parents who attend school board meetings and voice disagreement as terrorist.

In the letter from NSBA CEO Chip Slaven and President Viola Garcia.Attorney they requested that General Merrick Garland’s order the FBI to investigate complaints of threats to school officials from parents.

The letter from Slaven and Garcia caused a national uproar after it floated the idea that verbal confrontations and other incidents at local school board meetings across the US constituted “acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials.”

In wake of this attack on parents dozens of school board associations have severed ties with the NSBA.  To date at least 25 states school board associations have withdrawn NASB memberships or dues.

Contact the WSSDA, your local school board members, and your Republican Party leaders and demand they support the movement to cut off their relationship with the NSBA and WSSDA. You can email them at mail@wssda.org or call 360-890-578.

We cannot continue to support organizations that are harming children.

13 Year Old Student Gets chest Binder From School Staff— and Told Not To Tell Parents

A Maine mom has called for an investigation into her 13-year-old daughter’s school after she claims a social worker gave the teen a gender-transitioning device known as a “chest binder” and encouraged her to keep it secret from her parents.

Amber Lavigne, of Damariscotta, told the National Review that she found her daughter’s chest-flattening garment in December and confronted the teen, who claimed a friend gave it to her. The girl then admitted she got the device at the Great Salt Bay Community School, where she had been reassigned to a new social worker, Samuel Roy, according to the outlet. But school officials never informed the mother and yet never reached out to her, according to the National Review.

Fingerprints of Unvaccinated NYC Teachers Flagged to FBI

On February 8, 2023, while arguing on behalf of fired NYC workers who declined covid vaccination, attorney John Bursch stated in open court that unvaccinated teachers in New York City were flagged with problem codes in their personnel files, and when that occurred “their fingerprints are sent with that flag to the FBI and the New York Criminal Justice Services.”

The source of this information is Betsy Combier who wrote an affidavit (see pdf below) in the Kane v. de Blasio case where she stated unvaccinated teachers were given a “problem code” label that was “then sent to the national databases at both the Federal Bureau of Investigation” (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

In federal court on February 8th attorney Susan Paulson who was defending NYC stated that educators fired for declining covid vaccination were not removed for misconduct, but rather for not meeting a requirement for employment.

Activist Education Group Files Restraining Order to Prevent Release of Woke Curriculum Used in Washington State Teachers

A restraining order has been filed against Washington state's Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to prevent the release of documents requested by The Post Millennial's Ari Hoffman for copies of ethnic studies curriculum that are being used to fulfill mandatory training hours for public school teachers.

The request was made via a public disclosure request, after The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) severed ties with Washington Ethnic Studies Now, the provider of the curriculum after the agency discovered "that WAESN was not just an education-focused organization, but also a political one -- and that they had used their platform to make disparaging comments about others."

"Today they filed a complaint in Thurston County Superior Court and motion for a temporary restraining order (TRO) to prevent the release of the records. Out of abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of legal counsel, OSPI will hold off on the production of the records until the court makes a determination on the TRO."

The state's Professional Educator Standards Board has not yet severed ties with WESN and continues to list the agency as a clock hours provider for teachers. The board was only recently made aware of the controversial content in WESN's material.

The executive director of WESN is Tracy Castro-Gill, the former program manager of Seattle Public Schools’ Ethnic Studies who worked as the district's Ethnic Studies Manager from September 2018 until May 2020, when the superintendent removed her from the position due to "unprofessional behavior."

Castro-Gill was also an advisor to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s "Learning for Justice" initiative and an advisor on Washington State’s Ethnic Studies Framework. Castro Gill uses the pronouns they/them is also listed on the University of Washington's website as a "lecturer" on the list of faculty and is described as an "award-winning former middle school educator."

California Quietly Ditches COVID-19 Mandate For School Children

The California Department of Public Health on Friday quietly dropped its plan to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for children to attend K-12 schools.

The move is a reversal from Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom's 2021 announcement that the state would force students to take the vaccine - a decision that was delayed by state officials until at least the summer of 2023.

Will the Mandaters Apologize?

Not Following the Science

A dozen scientists from around the world conducted a massive metastudy of our efforts to fight COVID, as well as similar efforts to fight the flu, and they published the results in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.

The authors examined 78 different studies on the efficacy of different mitigation efforts such as masking, distancing, screening, quarantining, and hand-washing. How did these interventions affect the spread of the flu, COVID, or similar viruses?

The studies included were diverse. They covered epidemics as well as periods of low transmission. They covered rich countries and poor countries, suburban schools and inner-city neighborhoods, hospitals and villages.

Most important was what they had in common: They were all randomized controlled trials or at least cluster-RCTs. These are the gold standard for studies because they have the greatest chance of avoiding confounding factors. Non-randomized, non-controlled trials — for example, observational studies — can be compromised if, say, people become more likely to wear masks at times or places that already have higher rates of spread, or if people who wore masks were also more fastidious hand-washers.

So, what did the studies find?

For starters, hand-washing was effective in stopping the spread of these illnesses. That’s not surprising.

But here’s the most eye-opening finding: “Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza‐like illness/COVID‐19-like illness compared to not wearing masks.” In other words, masks didn't do much — if anything.
