Seattle’s Homicide Count Climbs to 27 in 2025 After Deadly Four-Day-Span

 

Aug 11, 2025 — A shooting that occurred at Virgil Flaim Park in Seattle Monday evening left two men dead, the Seattle Police Department confirmed.

 

The shooting happened Monday evening in an encampment at Virgil Flaim Park in the Lake City neighborhood. According to police, a male suspect shot two men - ages 33 and 40 - and then left the area before officers arrived. Witnesses said the shooting happened feet away from children who were playing on the park's basketball court.
