Every Child Counts Act
Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) last week as he introduced the Every Child Counts Act last
week in the Senate. The bill adds a 1% cap for [State] use of
alternate achievement standards and for participation in alternate
assessments on alternate achievement standards for students with the
most significant cognitive disabilities. The bill is also supported by
Ranking Member Patty Murray (D-WA) and is intended to help provide an
important addition to the Senate ESEA reauthorization bill.
